Gianluca, blind from birth, has to face the fact that his devoted father, a poor fisherman, has had to break the law in order to support him, leading him to flee to Santo Domingo. Devastated by his departure, the young boy waits with his forehead to the sea, hands outstretched towards the horizon, watching for a sign that his father has returned.
